Fear is one of those four letter words that we ought not to say– much less think. But, we do.
What do you fear?
Here’s a brief list of some of the things I often hear that people fear:
- Being alone
- Being lost in the crowd
- The unknown
- The dark
Fear can cause us a whole lot of grief, missed opportunities, withdrawal, pain, feelings of lack and limitation, and a host of other things that most of us would rather not experience.
Then why do we fear?
Why do we allow fear to:
- Cause us to settle for less than we know we desire and deserve
- Lash out at others
- Keep us stuck
- Do things we do not want to do
- Try to stay the same
- Resist change
- And the list goes on and on and on…
Since we seem to want to hold on to fear, I propose a new definition; a new outlook; a redirecting of our attitude of fear…
F – Follow
E – Enthusiastically
A – Authentically and
R - Reverently
When we allow the negative outcomes of our fear(s) to permeate our lives, we are doing all the things above, but on a path towards certain disappointment.
By realizing that you have the power to choose, and in fact that you are choosing - whether consciously or not - then you can make sure that you F~E~A~R things/beliefs/people/causes that lead you toward fulfillment of your deepest values, and the highest vision that you can imagine for your life.
If you find yourself living more in the traditional realm of fear and are ready to make the shift to Follow Enthusiastically Authentically and Reverently your passion and purpose, then don’t wait another moment.
Decide this very minute to put F~E~A~R to work for you.
Many times, people make such a declaration and roll along with amazing momentum until they discover that little things pile up, and they are back in a rut, in old fear patterns.
Don’t do it alone. If you would like some help…just ask.
Abound in grace,
